Jonathan Sanchez: The most perfect no-no ever that wasn’t?
Congratulations goes out to Jonathan Sanchez for a completely amazing performance last night. I had released him from my fantasy baseball team a few days earlier and picked up Mr. Sadowski. Shows what I know. He gave credit to Dave Righetti afterwords in a classy interview; funny that it took a demotion to the bullpen to see the light. A guy who has never thrown a complete game, comes within 1 Juan Uribe boot of perfection. Amazing.
Kung-Fu Panda got screwed
Well, if they didn’t already, at least the whole baseball world is familar with our likeable 3rd baseman. That fact of the matter is that Pablo Sandoval got completely screwed becaue of 2 politicians that have no business influencing All-Star votes. Everyone knows he deserved it more, even fanatic Phillies fans. Here’s to an amazing 1st half by the Panda! I can smell the postseason!
Brian Wilson freaks me out
After watching Matt Cain pitch another masterful performance tonight against the Marlins, Affeldt came in and was great as usual for 1 1/3. Then Brian Wilson comes in. I had such a great feeling going into the 9th inning. Pablo Sandoval hit a dramatic Grand Slam earlier, and the Giants were up 5-2 in the 9th. It shouldn’t have been that intresting in the 9th. Mr. Wilson couldn’t figure out how to throw a first pitch strike to almost every hitter he faced, and quickly allowed 1 run. He got a taylor made double play ball that should have eneded the game, but instead of throwing to Molina for the 1-2-3 double play, he threw to 2nd, which would have still ended the game, if he hadn’t thrown a change-up to Renteria. I didn’t know he could actully throw a baseball less than 90, but I guess he can just to make the game more scary. So the double play wasn’t turned. In the end, Mr. Wilson got the job done, and I give him credit for that. Am I being too greedy if I ask for a calmer 9th inning?
