All Giants' fans were without a doubt pleased with Barry's performance tonight with 8 1/3 shutout innings. I loved the way he worked quickly, rarely missed location, and was incredibly focsed on the monud. We just need THIS Barry to stick around consistently. Listen, I know he gets the worst run support in MLB. He has been the 2008 Matt Cain in 2009 as far as run support. But he still has the terrible blow up inning every couple starts that guarantees a team with little power no shot at coming back.

Barry Zito needs to start pitching as consistently as one would expect a $126 million pitcher to pitch. Thanks Barry for the great performance tonight. Now rinse and repeat.

After watching Matt Cain pitch another masterful performance tonight against the Marlins, Affeldt came in and was great as usual for 1 1/3. Then Brian Wilson comes in. I had such a great feeling going into the 9th inning. Pablo Sandoval hit a dramatic Grand Slam earlier, and the Giants were up 5-2 in the 9th. It shouldn't have been that intresting in the 9th. Mr. Wilson couldn't figure out how to throw a first pitch strike to almost every hitter he faced, and quickly allowed 1 run. He got a taylor made double play ball that should have eneded the game, but instead of throwing to Molina for the 1-2-3 double play, he threw to 2nd, which would have still ended the game, if he hadn't thrown a change-up to Renteria. I didn't know he could actully throw a baseball less than 90, but I guess he can just to make the game more scary. So the double play wasn't turned. In the end, Mr. Wilson got the job done, and I give him credit for that. Am I being too greedy if I ask for a calmer 9th inning?
